One family, three jobs
This is the working end of the range. Everything in it is a PVC film with a rubber adhesive, printed on the same coating line as the electrical tape and slit the same way. What changes between the nine grades is thickness, surface finish, colour and whether the grade is printed.
Pipe wrapping is the bulk of it. A glossy film for the pipe itself, a matte film where the surface has to stay readable or the tape has to disappear into the background, and an embossed grade that tears by hand along the wrap instead of needing a knife at the joint.
Floor and aisle marking needs adhesion that survives foot traffic and a scuffing mop, not just peel strength at application. That is why several grades here carry both a marking duty and a wrapping duty in the same row — they are qualified for the traffic, not only for the pipe.
Hazard warning tape is the printed grade, supplied in standard stripes: yellow/black, white/red, white/green and white/black. It is used for lane marking, colour coding, and for sealing, bonding and identifying on the same roll stock.
Thickness is the main decision
The range runs from 4.7 mil to 10 mil. Below about 5 mil you are choosing the cheap end for a dry, indoor pipe that will not be handled. From 6.3 mil up you gain tear resistance and tensile strength, which matters where the wrapped pipe is moved, stacked or stored outdoors. The 10 mil grade is where elongation and tensile step up sharply and the film behaves like a proper wrapping material rather than a label.
Application temperature is printed on the sheet as 32–140 °F for all nine grades. That is the range we quote, and it is a wide one — if your pipe run sits outdoors in a hot climate, say so, because ambient is not the only thing that matters when a wrap sits in the sun for weeks.
One grade carries a material note
The embossed, hand-tear grade (WR-IN-07) is the one we hold as low lead and low cadmium. That is a statement about the material the tape is made from, not a certification name — we will supply the test report and its number rather than ask you to accept the phrase on its own. If your market asks for a document on this grade, tell us which one and we will send what exists.
Before you order
Tell us the pipe diameter and whether it is indoors or outdoors, whether the surface is painted or bare, and whether the wrap stays on or comes off. Those three answers normally settle the grade in one message. If you want a sample run first, ask for two grades at opposite ends of the thickness range — that is usually cheaper than a full trial on the wrong one.

Frequently asked
Glossy or matte for pipe wrapping?
Glossy (WR-IN-01, WR-IN-02, WR-IN-04, WR-IN-05) gives a brighter finish and is the usual choice for a pipe that stays visible. Matte (WR-IN-03, WR-IN-08, WR-IN-09) hides the wrap and is easier to write on, which is why it is the usual choice for floor and aisle marking.
Which grade is the hand-tear one?
WR-IN-07. It is embossed and tears by hand along the wrap, so a wrapped run can be finished without a knife at the joint. It is also the grade we hold as low lead and low cadmium — a statement about the material, backed by the test report rather than by a certification name.
What stripes can the hazard warning grade be printed in?
WR-IN-06 is supplied in the standard stripes: yellow/black, white/red, white/green and white/black. It is used for lane marking, colour coding, and for sealing, bonding and identifying. Tell us the stripe and the width and we will confirm what the coating line can run.
Product story
Nine grades, one decision: thickness
Every grade in this family is a PVC film with a rubber adhesive, applied at the same temperature. What separates them is total thickness, surface finish and whether the grade is printed. The bars below are the catalogue numbers, not a scale of our own choosing.
Which grade does which job
Pipe wrapping
The bulk of the range. Glossy where the pipe stays visible, matte where the surface has to read clean.

Where these numbers come from
Both figures are generated from the industrial tape table in the factory electronic product catalogue (Industrial Tapes, page 10 of the bilingual English edition). Thickness is quoted in mils and application temperature in Fahrenheit because that is how the sheet is printed — a converted number would no longer be the number a buyer is handed. Ask us for the page and we will send it.
